Chemical peels are versatile dermatological tools that can address numerous skin concerns. They come in different intensities but all of them exfoliate and treat skin issues more deeply than topical treatments can.

The chemical peels offered at Stone Oak Dermatology in San Antonio are non-invasive, well-tolerated, and clinically tested. They improve the health and appearance of your skin with minimal to no downtime.

Types of Chemical Peels

We offer a range of powerful chemical peels at Stone Oak Dermatology to help you achieve a more youthful and radiant complexion.

1.The Illuminize Peel™ is a gentle, radiance-boosting peel that is ideal for tackling mild skin imperfections. It uses a newer generation of two alpha-hydroxy acids, mandelic and malic, in combination with salicylic acid and resorcinol (peeling agents) and phytic acid.

The Illuminize Peel™ is one of our most popular peels in San Antonio because it offers excellent skin rejuvenating results with minimal irritation. It is an ideal choice if you want to brighten your complexion before a special event since it has minimal downtime and little visible peeling.

Within a few days your skin will appear more radiant and youthful. For deeper exfoliation, we recommend a series of Illuminize Peels. This will offer greater improvements for more mature and photodamaged complexions.

2.The Vitalize Peel® is a powerful yet non-damaging chemical peel formulated with a unique blend of active ingredients including lactic acid, resorcinol, and a retinol solution. It offers more exfoliation than the Illuminize Peel™, and you can see significant results in hyperpigmentation, fine lines, and acne scars after just one treatment with minimal to no downtime. That being said, best results can be achieved with a series of peels.

3.The Rejuvenize Peel™ targets deeper layers of the epidermis for a controlled but more intense exfoliation of the skin. Some of its active ingredients are lactic acid, salicylic acid, resorcinol, and a retinol solution. It also contains an anti-irritant which helps keep this powerful peel well-tolerated and non-irritating.

The Rejuvenize Peel™ is an excellent choice for more moderate to severe skin imperfections like scarring, melasma, sun damage, and lines and wrinkles. Downtime is minimal, and, again, the best results will be achieved with a series of peels.

Is a Chemical Peel Right For Me

Chemical peels are an amazing option for many people, but they are not for everybody.

If you are pregnant or nursing, have rosacea or extremely sensitive skin, have recently taken Accutane, have active cold sores, have vitiligo, or are on certain medications your dermatologist will recommend alternate treatments for you.

Discuss the suitability of chemical peels for you with your doctor. For the majority of people with concerns about texture, pigmentation, fine lines, and scarring, chemical peels will be an excellent treatment option.
